At the February 25th Let’s Talk℠ Community Conversations- "Othering: Us vs Them", attendees will explore the psychological and social dynamics of how groups define themselves by creating an "in-group" ("Us") and an "out-group" ("Them"). This Community Conversation provides a safe, neutral ground to share our experiences, listen to diverse perspectives, and discuss the impact of othering on our community relationships and cohesion, aiming to foster mutual understanding rather than provide immediate solutions.

The purpose is not to come to decisions or take action, but to foster understanding and build community through communication.  Often, our tendency when we meet in groups is to engage in “brainstorming” or problem-solving. During this community conversation, you will be asked to step back from that and focus on listening to one another and reflect upon the questions we will offer.
